Children's Book Fair at the Brooklyn Museum

Yesterday, I got together with some of my favorite mamacitas and headed with the little ones to the Brooklyn Museum.  On, Saturday, November 17th from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm the Brooklyn Museum at 200 Eastern Parkway hosted the Sixth Annual Children’s Book Fair.  The entire lobby was a beautiful backdrop to host imaginative children’s book authors and illustrators from right here in Brooklyn.  It was a wonderful opportunity for children to interact with each other as they enjoyed storytelling and activities and family friendly performances.  I got to browse through many books and converse with authors and illustrators as they shared their creative inspiration.  There were so many amazing stories in the room but I could only choose a few.  I figured I would big up my Brooklyn pride with baby and get a few titles so that he will know from whence he came.  I brought home and autographed copy of:

B is for Brooklyn written and illustrated by Selina Alko.

and

Each of these represents much of the Brooklyn experience in a colorful and dynamic way.  The authors and artists featured reside here in New York.  If you are looking for special holiday gifts reach out to them for an autographed copy for the Brooklyn babies in your life!
